On Monday, well-known tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer shared a video of three Galaxy S22 series models. It seems to show the final design of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra. As expected, there are some major differences between these models.
As indicated by previous leaks, both the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will adopt a similar design to the previous generation. In the video, the S22 and S22 Plus models look quite familiar, although the edges seem to be flatter than the S21 model. Maybe Samsung is learning from Apple. After all, Apple flattened the edges on every iPhone 12 model and continued this trend on the iPhone 13 earlier this fall.
What is really worth noting is the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which will replace the Galaxy Note next year. In the past few months, there have been reports that Samsung will withdraw from the Note series and bring many iconic features to the S22 Ultra. As you can see in the video, the bottom of the Galaxy S22 Ultra model has a slot for the S Pen. This used to be the iconic feature of Note, but now it has been adopted by Galaxy S22 Ultra.
In addition to size and shape, the most prominent design element of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the rear camera array. Although the S22 and S22 Plus retain the corner-cutting module of the previous generation, the S22 Ultra has a solid rear panel with the lenses scattered in the upper left corner.
With the recent smartphone convergence of design, many handset manufacturers are struggling with their new phones themselves. This is a fresh look for Galaxy phones, and it will be interesting to see how consumers react. This is the only Galaxy flagship model with a non-traditional appearance in 2022. This fact may stimulate more people to upgrade to the S22 Ultra next year.
