The photographic sector of the smartphone consists of:

  • Primary: 50MP 1/1.31 ″ sensor, 1.2 µm pixels, 24mm equivalent f/1.85 aperture lens, OIS, dual PDAF
  • Ultra wide-angle: 12.5MP 1/2.86 ″ sensor, 1.25μm pixels, 16mm equivalent f/2.2 aperture lens
  • LDAF sensor (laser detection autofocus)
  • Flash LED
  • 4K at 30/60 fps (4K/30 fps tested)

To convince the DxOMarK staff the most was the quality of the details that the smartphone manages to capture in bright light conditions and indoors, the accuracy of the color returned, the level of natural details and shadows, the rapid autofocus in bright and indoor lighting conditions, detail in shots, stabilization and detail in videos, as well as accurate video exposure and dynamic range.

On the other hand, a series of characteristics such as the background noise present in all conditions (especially in the shadows), the lack of details in low light conditions and in long-range shooting, the bokeh effect not visible in the preview, color instability in videos, background noise in low-light videos, not always reliable autofocus in low-light videos, and video artifacts such as aliasing and flickering.

With a total score of 132, the Google Pixel 6 comes in just outside the top ten of the best camera smartphones. In short, in its price range, it is the undisputed king, especially for those users, professionals and non-professionals, who prefer the portability of their device to the size of the latter’s display.
