TikTok has spread like wildfire, showing us funny, entertaining and hilarious clips from users across the globe. Until now, most people watched content on their phones and home TVs, but a new partnership between the social media network and Atmosphere will push video to a bigger stage, including restaurants, gyms, airports and hotels.
For those unfamiliar with Atmosphere, it’s a streaming TV service for businesses as well as original and custom TV channels for customers’ spaces. Atmosphere currently has more than 19,000 customers, including Taco Bell, Texas Roadhouse, Burger King and Westin Hotels, and has amassed more than 20 million unique monthly users.

The service offers multiple channels – such as RedBull TV, X Games, Nitro Circus TV – and numerous another lifestyle, car, kids, sports and niche broadcast channels. Thanks to the new partnership, this media range will now increase the dedicated broadcast of TikTok videos, making it the first social media TV channel on the platform.
Atmosphere’s TikTok channel will be curated by an editorial team who will be responsible for selecting the social network’s best and funniest segments to ensure it only broadcasts content that is suitable for viewing outside the family. The channel itself was designed with the help of TikTok, ensuring viewers have an experience similar to using social media apps on their phones.
Dan Page, Head of Global Business Development and New Screens at TikTok, said: TikTok has become a destination for over a billion people to entertain, get inspired and find community. By partnering with Atmosphere, we are excited to bring the joy and creativity of our platform to New screens, venues and audiences to make it easy for people to experience TikTok together.
From the looks of Atmosphere’s channels, most of them contain content sourced from the internet – presumably with the permission of the creators. The atmosphere then removes the audio from the video and either replace it or keeps it muted depending on the customer’s needs.
