Samsung will soon be launching three tablets, the Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra. In the most recent, extensive leak, the colleagues from WinFuture have already published new pictures and the complete technical data. Officially, however, we will only see the three devices at an unpacked event on February 8, 2022.
All three variants are said to use the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The dual main camera with 13 (wide angle) + 6 (ultra wide-angle) megapixels is also identical on all tablets. However, there are differences in the screen diagonals, the resolution of the screens and the memory and interface equipment.

The flagship Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, which also adorns the article image, has a diagonal of 14.6 inches and a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848 pixels. A SAMOLED display with 120 Hz is used here. In addition, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of storage space are on board. A dual selfie cam with two times 12 MP is placed in a notch to round it off.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ (12.7 inches/2800×1752 pixels) pictured above has a slightly different screen design because the frame is wider and a notch is missing as a result. A SAMOLED display with 120 Hz is also used here. The selfie cam is slimmed down to 12 MP at once. Incidentally, this also applies to the “normal” Galaxy Tab S8. However, the latter has to be content with an LC display, at least still with 120 Hz.
In addition, all three new Galaxy tabs have Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and optionally 5G, as well as a MicroSD slot to expand the storage space. Fingerprint scanners and USB-C (3.2 Gen 1) are also available. The batteries are 8,000 mAh (S8), 10,090 mAh (S8+) and 11,000 mAh (S8 Ultra). The operating system is Android 12 with the One UI 4.1 interface. All three models use speakers with support for Dolby Atmos. An S Pen is included.
The prices of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra are still open. It is currently being speculated that the S8 will cost around 700 to 900 euros, the S8+ will cost between 900 and 1,100 euros, and the S8 Ultra will cost between 1,050 and 1,200 euros. Let’s see what’s in store for us when Samsung finally speaks a word of power regarding the price recommendations.
