macOS 12.3 already includes frameworks and daemons that support UWB technology, similar to those found on iOS devices. Apple first offered ultra-wideband technology, also known as the U1 chip, on the iPhone 11 released in 2019, and later expanded to the Apple Watch, HomePod mini and AirTags. In the Apple ecosystem, this technology enables faster AirDrop, CarKey verification, faster AirPlay, and accurate network location searches.
