OnePlus 10 Pro should have been different and with periscope

OnePlus 10 Pro is certainly one of the most original smartphones of 2022, at least in terms of design. But in reality, in the sketches before the launch, the smartphone should have been slightly different, but above all with a camera sensor currently absent.

The news that the 10 Pro model should have been different, we learn from a render made as a design sketch, where you could see the OnePlus top frontally identical to what it is now: therefore a curved panel, with lateral punch-hole and frames very small.

But the rear was going to change. Or rather, not entirely, since the shape of the camera bumper would have remained very similar to what we see now in practice, but the design lines would have been even more original, with a sort of hollow rather than a relief. Most importantly, there should have been a periscope and not a telephoto lens as we see today.

The choice of OnePlus, unfortunately, remains a real mystery. Why did they remove a feature that would have been more appreciated (by photo lovers) than a telephoto lens? That OPPO did not want to create a smartphone that could seriously compete, for example, with the Find X5? Or was it for design needs?

We do not know now if OnePlus will point to this option for the hypothetical Ultra model, but currently, this patent remains so. In any case, if you want, you can consult our review of the OnePlus 10 Pro, but also our comparison with Xiaomi 12 Pro.
