There have been rumors before that Sony will launch a new subscription-based service Project Spartacus to counter Microsoft’s XGP. At present, Sony has not officially announced this project. However, some careful players have found that there have been some changes in the slogan of the PS Plus service, which can not help but make people think.
A player posted the discovery to social media. We can see that the slogan of free games for members of PS Plus in February 2022 is significantly different from the previous one. The content of the slogan has been changed from “For PlayStation Plus members” (for PS Plus members) to “Available this month at no extra cost” (free this month). Based on this, many players have speculated that Sony may launch a higher-level subscription service, paying some additional fees to get more PS Plus services.
According to speculation, Project Spartacus will combine PS Plus and PS Now. Sony has already removed PS Now 12-month subscription coupons in the UK and US, and big changes may really be coming.
