And in this debate, there are now also the current business figures from Spotify, in which we also get fresh user numbers again. Compared to the previous year, it went up 18 percent, Spotify now has 406 million active users.
The growth in paying users was a bit smaller at 16 percent, but you are now looking at 180 million paying users per month. Spotify is and will remain number 1 in the music streaming market in 2022.
However, Spotify now describes itself more as an “audio network for creative people” and less as a music service. You continue to advertise massively with podcasts, because that’s the only way you can stand out (with exclusive podcasts) from others.
