Steam’s January hardware survey report is out

Today, Steam released the hardware and software survey report for January 2022. In this report, the RTX 30 series graphics card ranks among the top ten for the first time.

According to the data, in January, the most used graphics card on Steam was still the GTX 1060, but the proportion was slightly lower than before; then, the usage of GTX 1650 and GTX 1650 Ti increased slightly.

The tenth place on this month’s list falls to the mobile version of the RTX 3060. Compared with last December, the proportion of this graphics card has increased by 0.32%, accounting for 2.06% of all Steam players.

As a dessert-grade graphics card released by NVIDIA in 2021, the mobile RTX 3060 has 3584 CUDA cores, a base frequency of 1.32GHz, an acceleration of 1.78GHz, and a 192bit bit width and 12GB GDDR6 memory, which has won the favor of users.

In addition to graphics-related data, the January hardware survey report is also quite interesting in other aspects. In terms of operating systems, although the Windows 10 system (64-bit) is still the most used system by players, its proportion has dropped by 3.92%. In contrast, the proportion of the new Windows 11 system has increased by 3.41%.

Player Language Ranking

In other respects, the CPU is still dominated by Intel with an absolute advantage of 69.2%, and the VR headset is still dominated by the Oculus Quest 2. Valve’s own Valve Index HMD is far behind.

In addition, in January, Simplified Chinese players were still the second-ranked player group on Steam, accounting for 24.14% of all players, opening an exaggerated gap of 13.28% with the third-ranked Russian players.
