Windows 11 will rename ‘Focus Assist’ and bring new notification improvements

Recently, Twitter user @thebookisclosed spotted a new set of tweaks to Windows 11 that will be coming to Windows 11 in future updates and will be shown first for Insiders in upcoming builds. More specifically, the priority of notifications is now displayed separately in the Settings app, as Microsoft wants the overall experience to be more straightforward.

The Focus Assist feature has been renamed to Focus, and the Focus Assist feature (previously known as “Quiet Time”) is a feature that facilitates focus work, which can be set to save users from unnecessary distracting notifications and can automatically Define which apps can pop up notifications.

Work on all these improvements is still in the early stages, and it may take a while until the new changes take effect for all users. Microsoft is running various experiments these days, and the company says it will use the Dev channel in the Windows Insider program to specifically test these ideas.

The company commented: “As part of this ongoing evolution, Insiders will see us rely more heavily on the development pipeline as a place to incubate new ideas, work on long-term leading projects, and control the status of individual features.

Allows us to experiment in several ways, roll out features in stages, monitor quality and your feedback (which we’ve done a lot), and test changes to features (often called “A/B testing”) from these builds Features and experiences may appear in future versions of Windows when they are ready. In some cases, these concepts will never appear, but with more experimentation, we can better refine the experience, and Providing solutions in Windows really enables our customers to achieve more.”
