Samsung has released a Wear OS watch with Google services, but it still doesn’t come with all the major Google apps. This is once again bitter news for all those who have opted for Wear OS 3 and therefore rely on the Galaxy Watch 4 from Samsung.
After a faint announcement of eventually bringing the Google Assistant to the platform, the latest announcement doesn’t get much better. The only positive point is that the Google Assistant is definitely coming. Samsung is now even explicitly mentioned in a press release.
Google Assistant is coming to the Galaxy Watch 4, but we still need a lot of patience
But the bad news is that Google Assistant isn’t coming to the Galaxy Watch 4 for “the coming months.” February has already arrived and I, therefore, believe that Google will only be able to offer its voice assistant when Wear OS 3 is also available for other smartwatches. It sounds more like the problem is on the Google side. But that’s just speculation, of course.
“Additionally, Google Assistant will be coming to the Galaxy Watch4 series in the coming months. With access to Bixby and Google Assistant, consumers will be empowered with advanced voice assistants to meet their diverse needs.”
Since I use Google Assistant more often in everyday life, the lack of availability in everyday life with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 bothers me.
