After hitting a new high in December last year, the foundry TSMC’s revenue reached a new high in January, and its monthly revenue exceeded US$6 billion for the first time.
TSMC today announced its January 2022 net income: January 2022 consolidated revenue was approximately NT$172.18 billion (approximately RMB 39.33 billion, approximately US$6.188 billion), a year-on-year increase over December 2021 (US$5.61 billion) ) increased 10.8% and 35.8% from January 2021.
January’s revenue hit a new high, which means that TSMC’s revenue this month has increased significantly year on year. According to TSMC’s data, their revenue in January last year was NT$126.749 billion.
Compared with 172.176 billion in January this year, an increase of 45.427 billion, a 35.8% year-on-year increase. In December last year, TSMC’s revenue was NT$155.382 billion, an increase of 10.8% compared to January this year.
TSMC’s January revenue maintained a significant year-on-year growth momentum and hit a new high, which means that the industry’s demand for their production capacity is still strong. With the chip shortage still continuing, their revenue is still expected to hit a new high for some time to come.
At the same time, since Apple is a major customer of TSMC and a major customer of 5nm, an advanced process technology, TSMC’s revenue hit a record high in December last year and January this year, which to a certain extent also means that consumers are more interested in the iPhone 13. Demand remains strong.
