After Samsung officially exited its iconic Galaxy Note brand, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is now the unofficial new Note flagship device. All of these high-end devices are powered by Samsung’s Knox platform and get the company’s secure processor and memory.

This secure platform may be of great interest to those who buy, trade, or invest in cryptocurrencies. All Galaxy S22 series devices come pre-installed with a brand new Samsung Wallet app.

Needless to say, this virtual pocket fulfills all expectations of a digital wallet on a smartphone. Samsung confirmed the existence of the new wallet during its launch event.

While the introductory section on Samsung Wallet is very brief, it provides confirmation about cryptocurrency support:

Our new Samsung Wallet will put your digital valuables in one convenient and secure place. You’ll be able to store your ID, credit cards, passwords, keys and even your boarding pass.

So not only can you carry less, but you can access them anywhere. Samsung Wallet will also make it easier for you to access and explore complex digital products like cryptocurrencies.

If this all sounds very familiar, it’s because Apple already offers this feature in the iPhone. Both wallets securely store credit cards, boarding passes, transit cards, tickets, reward/VIP cards, digital keys, vaccination records and digital IDs.

Samsung Wallet, on the other hand, can store “blockchain keys.” The company has confirmed that the Samsung Knox security suite supports the feature. As revealed in the presentation, Samsung will offer owners of the Galaxy S22 the ability to work with crypto tokens through the device. But there is no official confirmation on the type of cryptocurrencies that may be stored in Samsung wallets.
