2022 Mini-LED iMac Pro may launch in June

An Apple iMac Pro with a Mini-LED display could launch in June, analyst Ross Young said today. Apple has been working on a larger-screen version of the iMac for months, and if the June schedule is accurate, it could debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Previous sources suggested that the new iMac could be launched in the spring, but Young said in late January that he expected the product to launch in “summer.”

It should be noted that at the time Young stated that panel shipments were expected to start in June, with a possible launch in August or September, but he seems to have moved the schedule forward.

The 27-inch iMac will be sold alongside the 24-inch iMac, and to bring it into line with the MacBook Pro, as the high-end version, it will likely be called iMac Pro. The iMac Pro with mini-LED backlighting is expected to have “about 1,000 brightness zones” and “over 4,000 mini-LEDs.”

Aside from the Mini-LED display, the iMac Pro is expected to introduce a redesigned look and the same M1 Pro and M1 Max chips found in the 2021 MacBook Pro models.
