The new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will be officially unveiled on February 17th. The smartphone will expand the OnePlus range by offering an additional option for the OnePlus Nord range, increasingly relevant to the brand’s overall sales. Pending the presentation, today we record a real “official leak” for the new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G.
The smartphone is shown in a couple of images that OnePlus has made available to the press. The company also confirmed some technical specifications of the smartphone.
OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G: Here is the first official image
The first official image of the new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G shows us the back of the smartphone. The rear design has as its absolute protagonist the camera module, with two sensors characterized by particularly abundant dimensions.
The module also has curved edges that closely resemble the OPPO Find X3 Pro (remember that OnePlus is now part of OPPO so much so that the two brands are working on a Unified Os).
Oliver Zhang, Head of Product at OnePlus, commented on the design that will characterize the new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G: Using a one-piece molding process, the camera module naturally rises from the back of the phone in an elegant curve. Our designers have also added a ring around the photosensors to enhance the futuristic impression of the module.
The solution proposed with the new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will present substantial differences compared to what was seen with the recent OnePlus 10 Pro. The current OnePlus flagship, still awaiting a launch date for Europe, integrates a camera module decidedly more showy and, probably, much less elegant than the new member of the Nord range.
The first image of the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G also confirms the presence of blue, a reference chromatic element for the Nord range. In this evolution, OnePlus offers what is called Bahama Blue more “bright and bold” than the Blue Void of OnePlus Nord CE. There is also a second colorway, the Gray Mirror, of which no images have been released.
Regarding the color choice, Zhang pointed out: When designing the colors for the OnePlus Nord CE 2, the team wanted to evolve its blue color to a brighter and bolder blue than the original OnePlus Nord CE Blue Void. OnePlus Nord CE 2’s Bahama Blue colorway shows a multidirectional gradient of blue and yellow that blends beautifully together.
The specifications of the smartphone waiting for the debut
Oliver Zhang also confirmed some specifications of the new smartphone. The newcomer of the Nord family will be able to count on a 4,500 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 65 W. It has also been confirmed the presence of a slot for microSD cards (to expand the storage up to a maximum of 1 TB ).
Much of the technical data sheet of the new smartphone has not yet been made official but the rumors of the last few days provide us with a clear idea of the specifications. The new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will be able to count, in fact, on the SoC MediaTek Dimensity 900 supported by 8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage.
The photographic sector will include three rear cameras. The main sensor will be 64 megapixels and will be flanked by an ultra-wide-angle sensor whose specifications are not yet known. As for the display, the smartphone will include a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Note that the smartphone will also come in a Lite variant. This version will have a 6.59-inch LCD display and can count on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. More details on both new components of the Nord range should arrive in the next few days, in view of the official presentation on February 17th.
