Tesla’s South Korean website revised its promotional language for its Model 3. Earlier, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) launched an investigation into Tesla for allegedly exaggerating its cruising range.
Now, Tesla’s Korean website’s description of the Model 3’s range has been changed to “up to 528 kilometers” on a single charge, from “over 528 kilometers” previously. One reason the KFTC is investigating Tesla is that Tesla did not specify the conditions under which the range was achieved, the people said.
Analysts said the cold weather could reduce the range of electric vehicles, and winter temperatures in Seoul are often sub-zero. Tesla has yet to comment. The KFTC declined to comment.
