On 11 January, OnePlus unveiled the new OnePlus 10 Pro in China, the Chinese brand’s flagship for the first part of 2022. With the launch of the global version ever closer, rumors increase that speak of a possible younger brother for the OnePlus 10 Pro, or the “smooth” OnePlus 10 codenamed Oscar: for the first time, in fact, OnePlus did not present the two variants of the smartphone at the same time (as it did until the presentation of OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro).
According to what was reported by 91mobiles, the well-known leaker Yogesh Brar has revealed that OnePlus is working on a new smartphone of its own “numbered” series, marked with the code name “Oscar” and which, in all probability, will be the next OnePlus 10.
However, there are still no official confirmations on the real name of this smartphone or on the specifications it will be equipped with.
The possible specifications
Based on the work done by OnePlus in recent years, it is plausible to hypothesize characteristics similar to those of the aforementioned (and already revealed) OnePlus 10 Pro, perhaps with some renunciation, but not from the point of view of the SoC which should still be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from Qualcomm: we assume this based on the fact that OnePlus, starting from the 7 series with which it launched the Pro variant, has never differentiated the SoCs between the “smooth” version and the Pro version.
Usually, the two smartphones have been differentiated from OnePlus especially in the display and in the photographic sector. We will see if once again OnePlus will propose marked differences between its smartphones of the numbered series and we await official news about the actual launch of this OnePlus 10.
