Microsoft is working on a dedicated panel for organizing PWAs for the Edge browser

Microsoft is constantly updating its Edge browser with added features and testing new features through its Insider channel before a public rollout.

We recently learned that the company is integrating Skype Meet Now directly into the browser, and it now appears that it is also working on a dedicated panel for Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) to facilitate management.

The “Apps” button in the Panorama bar can be enabled through Microsoft Edge’s “Appearance” settings. On startup, it will encourage you to install specified websites as PWAs so you can quickly access them, as you can see in the snippet above.

Once you’ve installed the apps, you’ll see them grouped by certain categories, as shown in the screenshot above. You can also change the view to sort applications according to different filters.

It’s worth noting that this change is currently only available in Edge Canary, so Microsoft may further polish the experience before rolling out the feature generally. Even now, it’s being rolled out as an A/B test, so not everyone who uses Edge Canary will see it. But for those who have installed their favorite websites as PWAs, a dedicated PWA hub might be a good option.
