There are currently Google smartphones from the Pixel series at a one-off price in the Google Store, many other well-known shops and, of course, in combination with tariffs. But Google has also planned another offer for us in Europe. The Pixel Pass is coming our way with big strides. The only thing that differs from the USA is that Google is not yet a mobile phone provider here. So we probably have the Pixel Pass without a tariff option.
Pixel Pass: Google cell phone and Google services for a fixed monthly price
But Google already offers YouTube Premium, the Google Play Pass and Google One. You get all of that in the Pixel Pass. Behind it is a subscription plan for two years, which includes a Pixel smartphone and access to Google Pay Pass (EUR 4.99/month), YouTube Premium (EUR 11.99/month), Google One with 200 GB (EUR 2.99 EUR/month) and additional device protection.
The rented Pixel cell phone becomes your property after two years. It is planned that Pixel Pass customers will receive a new device every two years. The customer can currently choose whether he wants the Pixel 6 or the Pixel 6 Pro for a higher price. In the US, the Pixel Pass with the Pixel 6 costs around $45 per month, and the Group charges the Pixel 6 Pro at $55 per month.
Pixel Pass: You can save a few euros
If you like, that’s around 1100 euros after two years with the Pixel 6 (649 euros RRP). The associated subscriptions have a value of almost 480 euros over 24 months. So you save a few euros compared to buying the hardware individually at the RRP if you opt for the Pixel Pass. What is still missing are the prices planned for Europe and of course a timetable for the planned launch.
