Twitter now allows authors to flag content warnings on tweets

After extensive testing, Twitter’s ability to apply a “one-time sensitive content warning” to tweets is rolling out to all users worldwide, including on the web, iOS and Android.

With the Russian military invasion of Ukraine currently ravaging the world and people’s timelines, there couldn’t have been a better time for Twitter to bring this feature out of beta and for users across the platform to get their hands on it, as there are tons of Sensitive content is looping.

Twitter now allows users to flag nudity, violence, and “sensitive” content warnings in their tweets by simply tapping the flag icon when editing a photo or video attached to a tweet to enable these content warnings.

Previously, users who wanted to flag potentially sensitive content in their tweets had to opt for a comprehensive warning for all multimedia tweets in their accounts, a simpler and more effective solution.

While Twitter’s content warning system is better than nothing, its implementation leaves a lot to be desired, as there are currently limited categories of content warnings, such as an option for much-requested movie spoilers not included, and the feature is currently unavailable on TweetDeck.
