Bungie wrote on the help page: Destiny 2 is not supported on Steam Deck or any Proton system using Steam Play unless Windows is installed and running. Attempting to launch Destiny 2 on Steam Deck via SteamOS or Proton Players will not be able to enter the game and will return to their library for a short period of time. Players who attempt to bypass Destiny 2 incompatibility will experience a game ban.
Destiny 2 is known to use BattlEye anti-cheat software, and according to Valve, enabling it on Steam Deck is as easy as sending an email. And it’s worth mentioning that Destiny 2 already runs on Linux, and Bungie has ported the game to Google Stadia, a Linux-based platform.
