But with the Berlin Gigafactory receiving final environmental approvals, mass production of the Gigafactory is just around the corner; in addition, the Texas Gigafactory started production of Model Y late last year, and deliveries will begin after certification. After the two super factories join the production, the output of Model Y will be greatly increased, and the delivery volume will also be greatly increased.
With four factories producing at the same time, the output is bound to be higher than the Model 3 produced by only two factories, and the overall sales volume is also expected to exceed the Model 3.
In the report, the English-language media also mentioned that this year may be the last year in which Model 3 dominates sales in the global electric vehicle market, and will be replaced by Model Y.
However, after Model Y began to be delivered, Tesla no longer announced the specific delivery volume of Model 3 in each quarter, but combined the production and delivery volume of Model 3 and Model Y and announced the delivery volume of Model Y.
