Diablo 3 Season 26 will bring a brand new event, Echoing Nightmare Activity. Beginning March 10, new events, along with updates to the game’s Greater Rifts and item combination changes, will be tested on the game’s public test servers.
As detailed in the official preview blog, Echoing Nightmare Activity is a Seasonal Character-only event in which players will battle the increasingly dangerous memories of fallen Nephalem warriors. Players need to obtain “Petrified Scream” by defeating the Great Rift Guardian and then transform it in Kanai’s Cube to enter the Nightmare.
Rewards for the new event include Legendary items, Blood Shards, Gems, and a new Legendary Gem, Whispers of Atonement, which is designed to enhance Ancient Legendary items. Diablo 3 Season 26 will also bring a new update to the Greater Rift, adding three maps and removing two maps from the pool of possible Greater Rift maps.
Many enemy types have also been tweaked to provide more experience and Rift progression. Various set items for Barbarians, Crusaders, and Monks will also be changed, in particular, the Barbarian’s “Leko’s Legacy Armor” set has undergone major changes to give it a more unique identity.
There’s no word yet on when Season 26 will go live on official game servers, but the update will be tested on the PTR for two weeks.
