8 women join gender discrimination lawsuit against Sony’s PlayStation

According to the latest report, eight women have recently joined the lawsuit alleging sex discrimination at PlayStation, which was originally filed in November 2021. According to Axios, the plaintiffs made up of current and former employees, say a series of workplace misconduct occurred at PlayStation’s various U.S. offices. The allegations include difficulties in the promotion and a lack of attention to their work by the company.

Nearly 70 men were up for promotion during a promotion-consideration meeting, while only four women were under consideration, one former employee said. Another plaintiff said in her statement that she believed Sony was incapable of properly dealing with a toxic work environment.

The former project manager explained that in the four months before her departure, 10 women had offered to resign. The news comes after Sony asked last month to dismiss a sex discrimination lawsuit.

The plaintiff, who said in November that Sony did not provide women with the same career development opportunities as men, was suspended after she spoke out about the injustice she suffered. The lawsuit is seeking class-action status to support women who have had similar experiences at the gaming giant.
