Android 12 QPR3 for Pixel: New beta for next feature drop is here

Android 12.1 was released in its final version a few days ago, but the beta phase continues and confirms a recent statement by a Google developer. Anyone who was already using the Android 12.1 beta and is therefore registered in the official beta program can now get the approximately 180-megabyte update delivered wirelessly to their own Pixel cell phone.

Google Pixel: Beta testing started for major feature drop updates

A consolation for Pixel 6 owners who haven’t received the final Android 12.1 yet. Google speaks here of the “Quarterly Platform Release” and a publicly available beta version for it. Some colleagues say that this is probably primarily a beta 4 for Android 12.1. But Google is probably doing the right thing by testing larger updates publicly in advance as a beta.

“Today, the Android 12 beta continues with the next round of updates for our June feature drop starting with Beta 1. These are known as Quarterly Platform Releases (QPRs) and delivered to Google Pixel devices as part of Feature Drops.”

In fact, it is therefore a preview of the next feature drop for Android 12, which will appear in early summer. First of all, it is not yet known whether major innovations are already on board. We’ll see in the next few days when the new firmware has been observed and broken down into detail.
