Tesla will pay at least three months’ wages to expedition employees and car drivers can also get free charging services

Ukrainian employees who have been asked to return home to defend their homeland will be paid at least three months’ wages, according to an email sent by Tesla Inc to its EMEA employees on Monday.

It was not immediately known from emails whether employees in North America and other regions would receive the benefit. Three months later, Tesla plans to reassess the situation of the Russian-Ukrainian war and employees to decide what more needs to be done. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for resistance from the reserves in February before the war began.

On the 12th day of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Tesla employees were also praised in Monday’s email for helping SpaceX bring its Starlink satellite internet service to Ukraine. Among them, Tesla’s energy team assembled and supplied lithium-ion battery energy storage systems, called Tesla Powerwalls, to run Starlink devices in Ukraine.

Tesla employees assemble the Starlink-and-Powerwall system using inverters and charging cables donated by Tesla certified installers in the region. They’re also making AC cables out of scrap at Tesla’s new factory outside Berlin to power Starlink devices.

Although Tesla does not operate in Ukraine, the company said in an email that about 5,000 Tesla owners in the country, along with other EV drivers, can get free access to some Supercharger stations in Poland, Hungary and Slovakia Car charging service.
