Elden Ring players banned for no reason can only play offline

After the official release of Elden Ring, it caused a boom, and countless players flocked to the game to fight monsters and adventure. However, some players recently said that they were detected cheating for no reason when they played Elden Ring online, and then were kicked out of the game. When they log in again, they can no longer connect to the server and can only play offline.

A screenshot was shared on Twitter, where the error message reads “Misconduct detected, return to header menu”. Players cannot log in to the server after being banned, and cloud archives cannot be used. They can only play offline.

This is very painful because the player gets banned without knowing why. If you’re fighting a boss, and the boss is dying, and you’re suddenly kicked out, it’s really maddening.

Is anyone guessing that these wrongly banned players have actually cheated before, or tried to hack the game? Or did some other ambiguous behavior? At present, people are also unclear, is this caused by the server itself?

Because the multiplayer game code of FromSoftware’s previous works has hidden dangers, it is easy to be exploited by hackers. Despite the official revisions, some people are concerned that FromSoftware’s anti-cheat system may not have been properly tuned, misjudging cheaters.

Since there is no appeal channel, the gaming experience of players who have been banned by mistake is greatly reduced. There have been many inquiries from Bandai and FS officials, but they have yet to respond to this question.
