In this regard, digital blogger @Mobile ChipDaren said that Apple has stockpiled chips for the iPhone 14 series, and is preparing to produce 50 million A16 chips and 50 million A15 chips, which are currently only 100 million in total.
In fact, in December last year @Mobile Chip Daren revealed that not all iPhone14 series models will be upgraded to the A16 processor, and the iPhone 14 will continue to use the iPhone 13’s A15 chip.
He also said that the stocking of the 4nm A16 chip in 2022 is only one-third of the A15 processor in 2021, indicating that only one iPhone 14 will use the A16 processor. Among them, Apple’s internal code name for the A16 processor is Crete, and the code name for the A15 processor is Ellis.
In addition, due to the adoption of a completely different product strategy, this year’s iPhone will also change its naming. The Pro version will be named iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the non-Pro version will be named iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max.
The iPhone 14 mini will disappear completely, replaced by an enlarged version of the iPhone 14 Max, which should be the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but identical in configuration to the standard iPhone 14. This is the first time Apple has introduced a low-price version of the large-screen mobile phone.
