The initial iPhone 14 rumors mentioned that Apple will not launch the iPhone 14 mini in 2022, and the four models offered are the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Today, another source confirmed that the new iPhone 14, codenamed D27 and D28, is only available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes, and the 5.4-inch mini is confirmed not to be available.
The iPhone 14 series has the same resolution as the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, the screens of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, codenamed D73 and D74 will be longer, in order to match the opening + pill design, that is, the exclamation mark, or the I design of the iPhone.
In terms of chips, it is reconfirmed that the two iPhone 14 chips will be developed based on the A15, and the entry-level iPhone 14 may be equipped with a high-end version of the A15 Bionic chip. In the iPhone 13 series, the A15 chip on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max has one more GPU and 6GB of RAM. Apple may use the same full-blooded version of the iPhone 13 Pro A15 in the iPhone 14, and the name will be changed to A15X.
The A12Z chip on the iPad Pro in 2020 is actually the A12X with one more GPU core. The Apple Watch Series 7 is powered by the same SoC as the Series 6, but named Apple S6 and Apple S7.
