Overwatch 2 Leak: New look for Soldier-76, Doomfist becomes tank

The Limited Beta of Overwatch 2 for PC will not start before next April, however, an image published by the Overwatch League Facebook account has offered us some juicy treats. Surely shared by mistake, the image (already deleted from the official page) shows the hero selection screen and leaves room for little doubt.

Not only does it show a new look for Soldier-76, a former Overwatch boss who went into hiding and now sports a grizzled goatee, but also confirms the change of department for Doomfist, who in the second chapter will play the role of the tank in all respects. The rework of the Nigerian mercenary, which a developer had already briefly touched upon during an AMA session last year, seems to have been done.

The screenshot, which you can also view at the bottom of this news, therefore shows a team of five heroes (another big news of Overwatch 2), composed of the attackers Soldier-76 and the newcomer Sojourn, the healers Lucio and Ana, and the tank Doomfist.

Waiting to find out more details about it, we remind you that in view of Overwatch 2 also Sombra, Bastion and Brigitte have undergone a heavy rework. We also report that on March 10 the first closed Alpha test of Overwatch 2 PvP kicked off, in which only Blizzard employees, Overwatch League professionals and some selected groups are participating.

Their job is to help the development team prepare everything they need for the April Beta session. The new season of the Overwatch League, which will be played in the second chapter and in a 5v5 configuration, will instead be inaugurated on May 5th.
