Elden Ring and PC hacker invasions: How to recover corrupted games

While the new Elden Ring patch corrects the texts on PC and consoles, the PC community active in the Action RPG reports a worrying phenomenon linked to the action of hackers. On Reddit and social networks, references to sabotage interventions of their games conducted by other Elden Ring players have begun to appear. The latter in particular would have proved capable of damaging the runs of other Lightless through invasion.

The affected users, as you can verify via the Tweet available at the bottom, initially see the game interrupted by an apparent crash. Once the game is reactivated, however, it finds us trapped in an endless loop of fall deaths. The problem seems for the moment to be linked exclusively to the PC version of the FromSoftware title.

Fortunately, the community appears to have identified a possible do-it-yourself solution, pending any official interventions by the Elden Ring development team. Specifically, the procedure to follow would be the following:

  • As soon as the save has started, quickly press the key combination Alt + F4. This will close the game. This action is to give you more time to carry out the next steps;
  • Restart Elden Ring and your game, preparing to perform a series of actions in quick succession;
  • In the few seconds available before a new fall game over, players must open the in-game map, open the list of discovered Places of Grace and press the confirm button for teleportation;
  • By pressing these three keys in quick sequence, you should be able to stop the loop;

The hope on the part of the players affected by this unfortunate hack is obviously an intervention by FromSoftware that can prevent it from happening. In the meantime, the PC community active in the Action RPG is recommending that you proceed with making backups of your game save data. In the meantime, we remind you that Elden Ring patch 1.03 is available.
