Smart Home: Google Home gets significantly improved feed, more overview of events

A smart home can consist of many components that not only want to be controlled but can also often provide feedback or inform about events. Such events have long been collected by Google Home in a separate tab listing all occurrences. A major update has now been announced for this area, which promises a much better overview.

The smart home is only smart when it can recognize events and react to them independently – of course within the programmed possibilities. From movement to open windows and doors, changes in the status of the alarm system to the temperature, everything can be included.

The Google Home app collects these events in the Events tab, which forms a kind of history. So far, however, the entries are very large, with maps that almost fill the display. That means a lot of scrolling.

An update has now been announced, which you can see on the right screenshot. The display has been significantly reduced in size, all unnecessary details have been hidden in the overall view and a symbol on the right-hand side immediately shows you which event category is involved.

The new view should not only be reduced, but also be able to combine several events and display them in groups. This applies to simultaneous events, recurring events or messages that belong together.
