Spotify already offered a special view for driving in its mobile app: Car View. But that was deleted in November 2021. Now a new “Car Mode” is to be introduced, which focuses on a surface with easily recognizable, large buttons. Not only the player but also the rest of the app will then have an operation adapted for driving. This also includes the choice of music.
Currently, Spotify’s Car Mode is not yet widely distributed, as reported by Android Police. Previously, cynics suspected Spotify was trying to push users to buy its new Car Thing accessory.
