Nintendo asks Twitter users to delete a guidebook published 25 years ago

Over the years, players have been familiar with the power of Nintendo’s legal department. Recently, Nintendo’s legal department once again made a fuss, asking a Twitter user to delete a scan guide book, which was published by Nintendo 25 years ago!

In January, Nintendo banned more than 1,300 YouTube videos that used copyrighted music. YouTuber Gilva Sunner said he uploaded the videos because he didn’t have any way to listen to the music other than actually play the game, and he didn’t make money from the videos, hoping that this would encourage Nintendo to upload classic music to the streaming service platform.

Recently, Nintendo sent a takedown notice to a Twitter user, asking the user to delete a 25-year-old Super Mario 64 guidebook he scanned. Before the user scans and uploads it, the only way to see this guide is to go to some websites to find the physical version.

Both “Super Mario 64” and the guidebook are from a long time ago, and it’s a bit odd that Nintendo tries to keep it off the Internet. But… well, it’s Nintendo after all, so that’s no surprise.
