Messenger is one of the most popular instant messaging applications, especially among Facebook users, like all applications of this genre it is not perfect; despite the continuous efforts of the developers to improve the service offered (voice messages up to 30 minutes and other new features have recently been added), the user community is never satisfied.
Among the strangest shortcomings of the service, for example, there is the inability to format the text at will in the mobile client; but now to their rescue comes XDA member Mino260806 who has developed and made available an Xposed module called Messenger Pro.
The module in question contains several mods, with which it is possible to add and increase the functionalities of the official Messenger app, the most interesting are precisely the support for text formatting, the possibility of attaching any type of file and a window confirmation before making a call. Below is the complete list of features that the module is able to add:
- * bold * → bold
- ! italics! → italics
- _underline_ → underline
- -delete- →tick
- Possibility to attach any type of file, the quality of the images will remain unchanged but the preview will not be visible
- Ability to automatically insert a watermark in sent images
- Request for confirmation before starting a call, to avoid accidental calls
- Integration via text commands with some services including Wikipedia and Reddit
- Total possibility of customization, enabling or disabling the options at will through the module settings
It should be noted that, due to the intrinsic limitations of the official Messenger app, the module is currently compatible and working only with version 350.0.0.7.89; for this reason, it may be necessary to downgrade before you can use the Messenger Pro module.
