After Google Tensor, Samsung is planning new Galaxy processors of its own

Samsung doesn’t seem happy with how things are currently doing with the Exynos chips. There could be more exclusivity in the future. Is this just an interesting coincidence or is there a connection?

After Samsung apparently actively helped Google so that the manufacturer of the pixel phones set up its first own system on a chip, the South Koreans are now planning to develop completely new smartphone processors. These are intended solely for the Galaxy phones and are “unique”.

That’s what one of Samsung’s presidents said in his statement on recent events regarding app throttling. It sounds to us like Samsung is now focusing more on devices that have their own and exclusive processor platform. At the moment it is often still a mix. In some markets, Samsung relies on Qualcomm chips in top devices. With cheaper devices even significantly more.

Exynos chips are not exclusive. Also, one of the last generations was the template for Google Tensor. Samsung may be planning to use future Exynos chips in several different devices in addition to exclusivity. So also in cheaper price ranges, as Google is supposedly planning with its own tensor. However, this is speculation, not official information.
