Nearly half of US PS/NS gamers would consider subscribing to XGP because of Activision Blizzard games

According to a survey by YouGov website, if Activision Blizzard games join XGP, nearly half of US PS and Switch users will consider subscribing to the service. The YouGov website conducted an online survey of 1,200 US adults and 1,200 UK adults in January 2022.

The survey study found that in the U.S., adding Activision Blizzard games to XGP would attract 43% of Xbox players, 42% of PC gamers and 27% of mobile gamers to subscribe, while 46% of PS and Switch players would also consider it this service.

In the UK, if Activision Blizzard games join XGP, it will attract 48% of Xbox gamers to subscribe, as well as 29% of PS gamers, 26% of Switch gamers, and 26% of PC gamers and 20% of mobile gamers consider.

YouGov also found that, compared to other Activision games, 19% of US gamers and 11% of UK gamers said Call of Duty made them the most to consider subscribing to XGP.

In January, Microsoft announced its intention to acquire Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, the largest deal ever in the gaming industry. The deal will give Xbox exclusive rights to several games including Call of Duty, Warcraft, Overwatch and Crash Bandicoot. Microsoft hopes to close the deal in the first half of 2023, subject to the completion of transaction conditions and regulatory scrutiny.
