Overwatch 2: Blizzard reveals new details on Maps and Modes

While waiting for the Overwatch 2 Beta to begin, the shooter’s development team has updated the pages of the official website with a series of information relating to the design of the maps and the functioning of the game modes.

According to the developers, the design of the hero-based shooter arenas has been modified to propose a more complex structure, which gives the game greater depth and lends itself better to the use of different strategies.

One of the changes made to the maps of the first chapter is the addition of elements of the scenario that act as cover so that the absence of a second tank in the team (we remind you that the Overwatch 2 teams will be smaller ) can be compensated for by the possibility of hiding behind cover.

The maps will also offer a day/night cycle, thanks to which not only will you have the feeling of playing in a different place, but also the visibility in the various areas of the arenas will be altered.

We then talked about the Escort mode, whose games will be faster than those of Control and Transport, not to mention that the maps designed for this mode will be perfectly symmetrical.

Net of the decision to create mirror arenas, the aesthetic characteristics of the two sides of the map will be unique and you will never have the feeling of having two points of the arena equal to each other.

Before leaving you to the post dedicated to the in-depth analysis of the game’s maps, we remind you that Overwatch 2 could include a Battle Pass.
