Overwatch 2: After the McCree case, removed another reference to a developer

Within the Overwatch community, there is still discussion of the Jesse McCree case, a hero who has seen his name change to Cole Cassidy since he had the misfortune to call himself after a developer involved in the Activision harassment scandal.

Following those facts, Blizzard Entertainment has made it known that it will never again insert references to its developers in its games. To pay the price, therefore, was also Timothy Ford, Assistant Technical Director for both chapters of the series to which the name of a bar on the Toronto map was dedicated: what was previously called “Tim Fordsons” (a parody of iconic and royal Canadian coffee shop “Tim Horton’s”) has turned into “Tom Beansons”. A fan-made a comparative image to highlight the change.

Last year, the good Jeff Kaplan, former Director of Overwatch ( a year ago he left his post to Aaron Keller ), to whom a pizzeria on the New York map, “Jephs Corner Pizza”, had been dedicated to it. Now it is called very simply “Corner Pizza”.

Very interesting background, but what really matters is the gameplay. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer before we can get our hands on the new game, since the first Overwatch 2 Limited Beta kicks off on April 26th.
