Moving Platform Mode is a flagship feature of HoloLens 2 for tracking large environments with less dynamic motion, such as large ships and other marine vessels. It was released as a beta release in the 21H2 release but is now out of beta with new settings and configurations that you can enable when using HoloLens 2.

there’s also a new configuration that prevents the start menu from appearing when the user waves their hands and looks down. an alternative to opening the start menu now involves looking at the user’s wrist or virtually tapping on the icon for two seconds, and so on.

IN ADDITION, WHEN USING AN APPLICATION IN A WARM ENVIRONMENT AND PUSHING THE APPLICATION TO ITS CAPACITY, YOU CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE POWER AND THERMAL SDK TO PROVIDE CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS AND ACTIONS. THIS VERSION ALSO INCLUDES A COLORBLIND MODE TO IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY. FINALLY, USERS CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE NEW MIXED REALITY STRATEGY TO LAUNCH OTHER APPS FROM A SINGLE KIOSK.

Some of these features have already appeared in the first few months of the 21H1 release. Microsoft said that due to the large demand, these features were released in advance. Therefore, the major version number remains in Build 20348, but users can go to Windows Update to check whether the IT administrator has approved the update for HoloLens 2. The 22H1 version will be Build 20348.1501 or higher, but at least on the 21H1 version to receive the latest upgrade.
