With the introduction of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the Mountain View-based company has updated the camera’s hardware. According to an indiscretion today, the next series of Google smartphones will use the same optics.
Whistleblower Yogesh Brar says that the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro’s photographic compartment will likely use the same hardware like the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The leaker believes that the sensors could receive optimizations, but that it will be the software that will make the difference.
The camera of the Google Pixel 7 would remain unchanged from a hardware point of view
To be sure, the fact that Google probably won’t update the camera hardware with the next range of smartphones doesn’t make any particular fuss, since the lens has been updated with the introduction of the Google Pixel 6 series.
The Google Pixel 6a camera, expected next month, is also expected to use the same sensor and according to the tweet of the informant, Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will inherit the previous hardware for all sensors.
On the front of the chipset, Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro should adopt the second-generation Google Tensor SoC that should also help to enhance the camera sector.
Details on Google’s next series of smartphones are currently in short supply, but the company may reveal something during the Google I/O event scheduled for next month.
