The camera in the Apple iPhone has gotten better bit by bit since the iPhone XS and I would call it very good since the iPhone 11 Pro. This also applies to the ultra-wide-angle camera, which is very passable. But there is a weakness.
The iPhone and zoom
Not much has happened with zoom in recent years. Apple has optimized the quality via the software, but compared to a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the iPhone 13 Pro looks really old – these are visible differences.
This year, the iPhone 14 Pro will not do much, as the focus is more on the new main camera with 48 MP. But with the iPhone 15 Pro, the step to a periscope camera stands for a better zoom in the room.
And according to The Elec, the deal with the supplier is now in place, because Jahwa Electronics is planning a new and large partner for 2023, currently supplying Samsung. From the official side, of course, one does not want to confirm yet that it is Apple.
Periscope cameras are not new, we have known them since the Huawei P30 Pro and manufacturers such as Oppo or Xiaomi have already used them. I’m a fan of the technology because the quality is often visibly better and I zoom a lot.
