Spotify app for Android has some strange bugs since the latest update

The Spotify application for Android devices has started to manifest strange behaviors following the installation of the latest update and several users are complaining about it on the forums. The problem was recognized by the music and podcast streaming service, which promised a solution quickly.

This bad news for Spotify’s Android users — it seems that the bugs occur mainly on Samsung-branded devices — comes after yesterday we reported the transformation of Spotify Greenroom into Spotify Live and its landing also within the main app of the service.

Spotify for Android: the update brought bugs

Just take a look at the Google Play Store to find out how the latest update of the Spotify app for Android bears the date of April 7, 2022. Well, in the last week, following the release of this update, bug reports from users have begun to multiply, with particular reference to interruptions in playback and the failure to display multimedia controls correctly.

The reports came both on the official Spotify forum and on Reddit. For example, one user reported that the app had quite abnormality and playback controls did not appear in the notification drop-down. Another asked about a possible fix for the problem with the Now Playing bar.

About this, some users have seen it disappear altogether during the playback of content, thus finding themselves – due to the simultaneous disappearance of the controls in the notification curtain – in the impossibility of using the relative controls and even interrupting the playback (unless you force the app to close from the Settings), even in situations where this usually happens automatically, for example, when playing videos on YouTube.

On its official forum, Spotify has let its users know that it has read the reports, inviting them to activate the automatic updates of the app. In short, a dedicated fix should be on the way.
