Note that Edge Dev is one of the preview channels Microsoft uses to test early updates and new features before releasing them to the public. This means that you may experience more issues and bugs than the stable version.

The following are known issues in this release:

  • Users of some ad-blocking extensions may experience playback errors on YouTube. As a workaround, temporarily disable the extension to allow playback to continue.
  • SOME USERS STILL EXPERIENCE A PROBLEM WHERE ALL TABS AND EXTENSIONS CRASH IMMEDIATELY WITH STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH ERRORS. THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF THIS ERROR IS OUTDATED SECURITY OR ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE FROM VENDORS SUCH AS SYMANTEC, IN WHICH CASE UPDATING THE SOFTWARE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM.
  • Kaspersky Internet Suite users who have the relevant extension installed may sometimes see web pages such as Gmail not loading. This failure is due to the fact that the primary Kaspersky software is out of date, so this issue is resolved by ensuring that the latest version is installed.
  • Some users see “wobble” behavior when scrolling with trackpad gestures or touchscreens, where scrolling in one dimension also causes the page to subtly scroll back and forth on another dimension. Note that this only affects some websites and seems worse on some devices. This is most likely related to Microsoft’s ongoing effort to restore scrolling to the same behavior as Edge Classic, so if you don’t want this behavior to occur, you can temporarily turn it off by disabling the edge://flags/#edge-experimental-scrolling flag.
