Confirming the previous rumors about the release period of The Battlefield 2042 Update 4.0, the guys at EA DICE set the official launch date of this long-awaited update and list all the news, changes and improvements made by this patch.
The Swedish subsidiary of Electronic Arts invites all fans of the multiplayer shooter to prepare for Update 4.0 that will be available starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 19, on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The patch installation process will begin at 10:00 am in Italy and will not be accompanied by server downtime, so it will be enough to complete the download of the update to have immediate access to the online lobbies.
Going into the merits of the novelties provided by the patch, DICE confirms the introduction of VoIP features for parties and Teams, the addition of a summary screen with player statistics at the end of each round and a deep revision of the weapon accessory management system.

Update 4.0 will also bring a balance for the Traits of Specialists Rao and Paik, as well as improvements for the Sundance Specialty and an update for the anti-armor grenades that will help make them significantly more harmful against armored targets placed in the immediate vicinity of the explosion.
With the patch we will also see an overall balance of vehicles, with modifications that will make it easier to take aim at vehicles such as the M5C Bolte and a reduction in the power of the missile launchers. The rate of acquisition of medals and Experience Points is also increased, making it easier to access their unlocks in all modes.
The EA DICE team explains that Update 4.0 represents only the first of a long series of interventions that, starting from May, will further improve and balance the users’ gaming experience. The timing of the announced reworking of the Battlefield 2042 Specialists is not yet clear.
