Overwatch 2 Beta: Orisa and Doomfist change guide

Today, the Overwatch 2 Beta servers were officially opened for all users who have been selected by Blizzard and for those who will grab access thanks to Twitch Drops. One of the main novelties compared to the previous chapter consists in the rework of some heroes and, more specifically, Doomfist and Orisa.

So let’s find out the main changes made to both characters of the hero shooter with some advice on how to use them in Overwatch 2.

All the news of Doomfist

The main change of Doomfist concerns its category of belonging: it is now a tank and no longer an attacker. This means that those who use Doomfist do not have to focus on eliminations, but on absorbing damage and making inroads between enemy defenses.

To allow all this, this character with the huge metal arm has much more health (450 HP) and the bullets fired by his weapon reload much faster to balance the decrease in the damage inflicted.

Among the main features of the hero’s rework we find Bulwark, the defensive position during which the frontal damage can be absorbed almost completely (we are talking about 90%), thus allowing those behind not to suffer damage and resist any enemy attacks.

In addition to blocking damage with Bulwark, Doomfist’s glove charges with the ability to unleash all the energy channeled into the Reaction Fist, as its enhanced version increases rejection, speed of movement and distance traveled.

Still on the subject of the Reaction Fist, now the ability stuns all opponents who end up on a wall due to the shock wave of the skill. Seismic Momentum has also been retouched and, just like Winston’s jump, allows the player to perform a leap at the point framed with the viewfinder.

Simply put, you can now have more control over the jump and annoy enemies with great precision, so as to create havoc and perhaps open a gap for attackers. The Ultra, or Devastating Impact, is instead performed much faster but inflicts less damage and does not stun those in its area of effect: now the targets are slowed down, making doomfist’s Ultra perfect for those who want to start a more heated clash and perhaps favor the heroes whose weapons need more precision (see sojourn’s rail cannon).

How Orisa has changed

If Doomfist has been weakened in terms of attack to become more effective in the defense phases, Orisa has undergone a reverse process and is now able to better manage opponents in combat. In addition to a significant increase in health and armor that increase its resistance, Blizzard has also decided to intervene on its firearm, whose bullets now have a larger size and inflict more damage if the target is right in front of us.

Still, on the subject of the rifle, the ammunition has been eliminated, and now the weapon can fire until it overheats, which makes it unusable for three seconds. The weapon’s secondary fire, the Energy Javelin, has been transformed into a high-precision projectile that can also stun and harm those who are bounced off a wall on impact.

Orisa’s new ability is called the Rotating Javelin and allows her to destroy incoming bullets as well as increase the speed of movement (only forward) and damage/ repel those in front of her. Fortification has instead been modified in order to temporarily increase the health of 125 and makes it more difficult for the weapon to overheat so that it can fire non-stop on enemies.

The last change concerns the Ultra, Earth Impetus, thanks to which Orisa strengthens herself and drags allies towards her while charging an area attack. This is a very important change since it no longer affects enemies, but friends and allows you to start a time when all team members perform their best skills on enemies, strengthened by the protection provided by Orisa’s Ultra.

Waiting to find out which will be the next heroes to undergo changes, we remind you that on our pages you will find the guide on how to get access to the Overwatch 2 Beta with Twitch Drops.
