Microsoft Teams will soon be on the Windows 11/10 App Store

After promising to bring Teams to its store in 2021, Microsoft is finally taking action to make it possible. Microsoft 365 roadmap update says, “The Microsoft Teams app for work, school, and life will soon support downloads from the Microsoft Store. This app will support work, school, and consumer accounts on Windows 10, as well as Windows 11 work or school accounts.”

In May of this year, Teams in the Microsoft Store will give Windows 10 and 11 users more options to download the chat app, which currently can only be downloaded from Microsoft’s official website or installed through Office 365.

Once Teams is available in the store, Windows 10 users who don’t have Teams built into their system can use the regular download app in the store to get personal, work, and school accounts. On the other hand, Teams in the store will be an optional download for those who already have the chat app built into Windows 11.

However, this built-in version of Teams is only available for personal accounts. Windows 11 users can also download the Teams Store version to use the app for work and school accounts.
