Apple MacBook Pro 14/16-inch stock and custom versions delayed until July, including orders since February

According to the latest report, Apple’s new MacBook Pro is a big hit, and aside from the initial release boom, deliveries have remained steady. However, this week we saw orders for stock models and custom versions delayed until July, even for some customers who placed orders in February.

According to user feedback, the MacBook Pro 16-inch custom configuration order ordered in February was delayed, and Apple said that their device will not be shipped until the end of June or early July.

As others have shared, the issue is affecting MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch shipping times. For the last month, Apple appears to have been updating customers about the delays.

It’s not just custom versions of the new MacBook Pro that are delayed, even stock models in both screen sizes are shown to ship between June 27 and July 12. Although Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said that supply chain constraints were lower than the company expected last quarter, it still expects to lose $4 billion to $8 billion due to supply constraints this quarter.

But with shipments of flagship MacBook Pro models delayed by eight weeks or more, Apple’s Mac Studio shipments have been completed ahead of schedule. One customer reported that the new desktop arrived 30 days earlier than expected.

It’s possible that the mini LED panel is causing the delay in the new MacBook Pro laptops. Other models, such as the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro, which do not use mini LEDs, did not experience lag. And in late March, we saw a report that Apple was working to increase its supply of mini LED panels by 20% to 30%.

All because of the strong demand for mini LED MacBook Pro laptops. A recent study found that during the 2021 holiday quarter, MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch sales outpaced all OLED laptops combined.
