Overwatch 2: Players complain about an alleged reduction in Tracer’s buttocks

Overwatch 2 has just come out in beta, but it is already causing some discussion. For its mechanics? For his artistic direction? No, for Tracer’s buttocks, which according to some gamers would have been reduced compared to the first episode.

It all started with a tweet from user @Vulturfakes, who posted a profile photo of Tracer alluding to the fact that it had been resized. Note that the guy enjoys creating customized versions of female video game characters with exaggerated sexual traits.

Many gamers, without checking, resumed the tweet expressing their anger at what they saw as yet another political act against a female character and the fanbase. Some have even gone so far as to claim that Tracer’s desexualization would send a negative message about body positivity.

Too bad there was no desexualization, as pointed out by streamer Melonie Mac, who to demonstrate this posted a profile view of Overwatch Tracer, comparing it to Overwatch 2’s Tracer:

Melonie Mac: ” Tracer has always had a small butt and I don’t understand how the internet has just noticed it now.

I understand the problem with removing curves from female characters, but she has never had them, so I don’t see where the matter comes from.”

The only explanation for this umpteenth controversy about nothing by a certain slice of gamers is that probably many of them are used to watching Tracer in amateur works, where actually the authors often accentuate some traits. Be that as it may, the original Tracer has not been modified and remains the slim, agile and fast character it was before.
