Battlefield 2042 isn’t yet, EA has long-term plans

Unfortunately, Battlefield 2042 has not met with the expected success, since its launch in November 2021 the game has struggled to establish a vast and solid player base and a month ago the active players according to SteamCharts estimates were about 1963, today they have risen to 2,220.

Very small numbers for such a popular franchise, however, EA is confident and the company reiterates that it has a long-term plan to save the game, as confirmed by Andree Wilson during the latest shareholder conference call.

These are the words of Andrew Wilson, who recalls how EA is also working on the future of Battlefield with the aim of creating a shared universe, Vince Zampella (co-founder of Infinity Ward and Respawn) is now in charge of the franchise while Marcus Lehto, co-author of Halo and dad of the Master Chief, he is in charge of the new DICE studio in Seattle that will handle the storytelling.

EA is working on updates and lots of content for Battlefield 2042, with the first season starting in the summer, and the future of the series is also planned with a new Battlefield game in development and the launch of Battlefield Mobile, which should take place during the ‘fiscal year, at the latest by March 2023, although Wilson himself could not confirm this launch window.
